The BFI London Film Festival is back once again. Between October 2nd and 14th I’ll be watching a whole lot of movies. Its my favourite time of the year. I cannot wait!!!!

Here is the round up of films I’m going to be seeing. Reviews to come in due course

The Antenna

Paranoia reigns in this arresting hybrid of body horror and social commentary. This horror from Turkey is set completely within an apartment complex

Color Out of Space

Director of Hardware, Richard Stanley’s adaptation of HP Lovecraft’s otherworldly tale and staring Nicolas Cage. Craziness is bound to go down!!!!

First Love

The return of Miike Takashi to the BFI London Film Festival. A young boxer on the brink of death falls in love with a woman caught in the crossfire between yakuza and triad gangs in a fight over stolen drugs.

The Lighthouse

The Witch director Robert Eggers returns to terrorise the LFF with his masterful maritime shocker.

The Lost Okoroshi

A man who wakes up to discover he has undergone a transformation takes a revelatory journey to see if ancestral tradition has a place in modern life. Im really looking forward to seeing this Nigerian movie from Surreal 16 member Abba Makama.

Synchronic

Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead (Spring, The Endless) return to the LFF with their latest hallucinogenic excursion into the far reaches of the mind. Its going to be a trip

The Traitor

Italian maestro Marco Bellocchio’s bravura epic gangster odyssey dramatises the extraordinary real life story of Tommaso Buscetta, the first major Camorra boss to turn state’s informant.
