Curated by Danny Boyle the Shuffle Festival is an initiative of The East London Community Land Trust, run by a small group of individuals and aided by hundreds of volunteers. It currently operates on the grounds of St Clements Hospital – a former workhouse and psychiatric hospital in the heart of Mile End.

Winter Shuffle hosts a seasonal themed programme for all. Nightly films, kids and family weekend matinees, traditional Christmas classics and offbeat cult hits for an alternative advent.

Highlights include a Muppets Christmas Carol, a double bill of Werner Herzog’s Encounters at the End of the World & John Carpenters original The Thing and an extra special screening of Danny Boyle’s amazing Sunshine together with a conversation with Danny Boyle, Professor Brian Cox & Mark Kermode as well as plenty of workshops and lectures related to the film shows on a whole host of subjects from science, the Antarctic as well as music and theatre.
